Grapes have been cultivated in Japan for centuries to improve the quality of wine. The first grapes were found in Yamanashi in the 12th century, and since then, many more varieties have been grown. Today, there are 28 varieties of wine grapes and 61 varieties of table grapes grown in Japan. Koshu and Muscat Bailey A are two of the most well-known varieties and listed as Japanese native varieties by the International Organization of Vine and Wine.

SCIENCE
Grape extract contains many powerful antioxidants that help to fight off environmental damage, protect DNA and protect skin from premature ageing. The leaves of the grape extract have a strong astringent property which helps to remove excess sebum in skin, unclog pores and reduce the appearance of pores which eventually helps to prevent the formation of pimples.
